Amy Poole

Early Intervention Counsellor

I am employed by North Staffs MIND to deliver Triple P in the north and south of the city usually in groups or one-to-one home visits. I also see a small amount of clients for individual therapeutic work.

INTERVENTIONS OFFERED
Triple P (group and one-to-one) and individual parental mental health work where necessary.

Aoife Mclaughlin

Clinical Psychologist

I work with practitioners and parents of children 0-7 to promote good parenting and attachment and child development. Dealing with children's emotional and/or behavioural problems and parental mental health issues.

INTERVENTIONS OFFERED
One to one child and adult therapy, Triple P (group), Relationship Play. Development of training packages based on attachment and parenting for practitioners and parents.

Claire Halsey

Lead, Consultant Clinical Psychologist

I lead an active and diverse team of staff in supporting parents and families in Stoke on Trent.

As a consultant clinical psychologist I support families and children and write about parenting and issues that matter for families. I’m interested in everyday challenges for families, such as managing temper tantrums, helping children sleep and keeping relationships alive, as well as more specialist subjects.

I take a particular interest in parental involvement in service development and work to raise the status of parenting in a variety of strategic settings.

INTERVENTIONS OFFERED
I provide clinical services to families and children including one to one and group work such as Triple P.

Another role is to train others and I provide a range of interactive sessions such as team building, everyday dilemma’s, child development, attachment etc to staff and volunteers in Stoke on Trent.

Dawn Rigby

Psychological Play and Parenting Specialist

I work closely with parents to enhance their relationship and interactions with their child through baby massage and play and assist in their understanding of their child’s developmental and emotional needs. I also deliver Triple P groups and offer sessions to nursery children to promote their social and emotional awareness and to promote confidence.

INTERVENTIONS OFFERED:
1:1 initial assessments and home visits, individual and group Triple P, Baby massage sessions individual and group sessions, Confident Kids, Tommy Walks Tall, Relationship play.

I offer parenting skills in relation to the following problems:

Sam Heywood

Counselling Psychologist

I work both preventively and clinically. Preventive work takes the form of parent sessions for confident kids and Tommy Walks Tall, including enabling staff to deliver the programmes and evaluation of the above.

Clinical work involves working therapeutically on a one-to-one or in groups with parents who have mental health problems that affect their parenting skills. I also offer Triple P at seminar, individual or group levels and provide clinical supervision to other clinicians within the service.

Other work involves liaison with other agencies and health professionals with regard to families and/or service delivery issues.

INTERVENTIONS OFFERED
I offer one-to-one therapeutic work for parental mental health difficulties and/or Triple P. Also offer group work for Parental Mental Health and Triple P.

James Boardman

Assistant Clinical Psychologist

My work is divided between working clinically with people and on research/ evaluation and resource projects.

INTERVENTIONS OFFERED
Individual and family work with parents and young people. Group and Teen and levels of Triple P. Co-facilitation of Tommy Walks Tall, Confident Kids and Stop Think Do.
